Looking back...

I'm participating in Return Of The Curls Photo A Day challenge on Instagram and day 5 we're to post a pic from our relaxer/relaxed days. I found 3 cute pictures of myself and it got me thinking:

1. Do I missed my relaxer/relaxed days?
Sometimes yes. To me my hair was a little more manageable at times. Close to the time I officially transtioned I wore a lot of half wigs that were of a looser textures than my natural hair so if I was having a bad hair day I could turn to one as an alternative. I can't find that now that I'm fully natural. I also miss easily curling my hair. I'm now stylist but I could work wonders with a flat iron and some oil sheen (lol).

2. Would I consider relaxing my hair again?
I'll never say never HOWEVER, I don't plan on doing so. I've said before that of I ever decided to relaxy hair again....I'm going to cut or short (like Missy Elliott Supa Dupa Fly short).

I must say, that overall I enjoyed my relaxed years up until things went sour. I always wanted to revert back to my natural state but after a few months I'd punk out. Still glad I made this choice and I'm loving it.

What are your views on relaxed hair? If natural, have you considered relaxing it (again)?

My Work - Painting

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Positive energy and many blessing to everyone in 2014!!!

So, in the mist of decorating our bedroom, I had the itch to paint again. Previously "boo thang" and I had fabric panels at the head of the bed ( click here to view the fabric panel DIY) but after looking at them for the past few months I realized that I didn't really like how they turned out. I'm not completely getting rid of them but for now, they're off the wall.

The inspiration for this piece was just freedom. I didn't have a particular design in mind but I knew what colors I wanted to use. From there, I began making strokes on the canvas until I saw "something". I must say I wasn't fond of it at first but the shading is what made me love it. Thus introducing our new piece(s) of art in the bedroom.

Hope you enjoyed!

OOTN- Holiday Party

Seasons Greetings!

It is the time of year where people gather together to enjoy the holiday season: Tacky Sweater parties, Holiday Dinner gatherings, and Tree Trimming parties are just some of the many events people like to enjoy around this time
Every year the company I work for hosts a Holiday party which is a perfect opportunity to catch up with employees that you don't get to see on a regular. Also doesn't hurt that there is free food and door prizes.
With this being an "event" I did attempt to get jazzy for the occasion. I strayed away from being Festive and went more towards being cute and comfy:

yeah, creepy pic with my head cut off

Dress: Statement Making Letter Dress from Forever 21
Black Blazer: Torrid
Tights: Avenue
Boots: Citi Trends (had them for years)
Stretch Belt: Came with a dress purchased from Dots (years ago)
Earrings: Return Of the Curls wooden earring purchased this summer at a expo

Excuse the "Im over it" look on my face. I was sleepy at this point.

I really enjoyed this outfit as it pulls me out of my comfort zone of pants and slacks. I was comfortable and warm thanks to the tights and blazer. I'm in love with the dress because you can layer it or wear it by itself and considering this is a short sleeved dress, I'll be wearing it year 'round.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Pick 6 - Fall 2013

Hello November and Greetings to FALL!
I know time is flying and Fall will be over before we know BUT I want go ahead and do my #Pick6 for Fall. This new addition to the blog will allow me to share items I'm loving on for the season. Some of the items I own...Others, I want. So let's jump into it:

Fashion - I'm obsessed with scarves and can wear them all year round (depending on the material). For me this is the perfect time if year to wear them because I have a lot of scarfs that fall under the category of
"Fashion over Function".  They're a nice statement piece for dark denim and plain tops or any outfit you feel they will suit. I recently purchased this sheer Leopard Scarf from Payless and I pair it with so many outfits to jazz them up.

Hair- Dry air...Protect the hair. I never get tired of my whipped Shea Butter ( <<< click the link for details) to help protect my hair during the colder months. Also works great to moisturize your body

Skin- An old classic that still works great for my skin is Ponds Cold Cream. My mother used it on me as a child and I am introducing it back into my skin care regimen.

Beauty- I'm choosing nail polish. When it comes to polishes, I'm in love with pinks of all shades but, I'll be moving into darker and richer colors for the fall. I've chosen "Jazz Hands" by Fresh Paint which can be found at Five Below. I was surprised as these are some decent polishes as far as quality. The coats aren't thin and it dries quick. Not to mention they're always on sale 3 for $5.00

Accessory
- More items purchased from Payless: Flower/Fireball Trio earring set. I love stud earrings however, I'm slowly moving out of my comfort zone of all silver jewelry. These earrings are too cute and again, can be used to jazz up the simplest of outfits.

Random - A item that I'm adding to my wish list for this season are these two tone rider boots that can be found at Avenue. I was there last week looking for a dress and wondered into the shoe section. My eyes immediately gravitated to these cuties. I tried them on,walked around in them... Boxed them up and put them back on the shelf (sigh*) "I'll come back for you".

There you have it. My #Pick6 for Fall.

Tag! You're it Ms Naturally Random and Brand Nu Start and anyone else that wants to share! What are your favorite or must have items for this season?
